Aug 09 Walnut Creek BLM Skate/Protest
This protest was organized by young people, some of whom were friends of Miles Hall, a young African American man who was killed by Walnut Creek Police on June 2, 2019. It was labeled as a Skate/Protest. Participants were on roller skates, skateboards, bicycles, or on foot. The march began at Civic Park, circled through city streets, and returned to the park for a circle of reflection. The march stopped at three different places downtown, and at each place anyone who wanted could speak to the crowd, estimate at about 150 -200 people.
